 "AUTHENTICITY"

Authenticity(philosophy)

"A particular way of dealing with the external world, being faithful to internal rather than external ideas".

My very first post :). Excited yet anxious. I hope you guys enjoy it.

When thinking about a description for my page, the word authenticity really stuck. I believe ,and pride myself to live by this. As we all know, the world we live in is filled with influences whether it be media, religion, education and peer groups, amongst others. Growing up is complicated enough. Embracing the external world has taken priority and in the process the internal self is lost.

I know finding myself was a challenge. At school I wasnt into sports ,maths or even the choir ,the space i fitted the most was my art class. Leaving highschool I ended up at The University of the Western Cape (no idea why). I can honestly say I just applied and attended because I could, rather selfish of me. There are so many youngsters out there with  passion and drive to be at a UWC or a UCT who arent by the means. So yes, I conformed, hearing all the university talk and degree excitment I blocked out my ''internal" voice. It was a learning curve, bumping me head made me slowly discover who i really am and aspire to be. This is a life long process.

Lisa was right under my nose. The journey I am on now with a dear friend called Fashion is soooooooo me:). Yes, there are times I feel like it all gets to much ,but that "internal" voice which is much louder than the one i had a few years ago motivates me ,I call it voice Lisa. What i do now makes me happy and this is KEY.

So being who you are will only benefit you at the end of your journey,so what if nobody likes your muddy Dr. marten boots, who cares??!! Im sure you feel Fabulous in those bebe's so ROCK them:).

Embrace who you are , there is not another YOU...you are Gods FINGERPRINT. Like Dr.Seuss says ''Today you are you, that is truer than true, there is no one alive who is youer than you!'' :)

Till the next post:) enjoy YOU!
